连体衣 3-8 件
连体衣 Bodysuit/Onesies，也叫包屁衣，刚生小孩最常见的亲人朋友送礼项目，有的医院还会送几件，开口在小屁屁处，方便换尿片，根据气温变化还可搭配小裙子小裤子小外套，我认为是最灵活方便的宝宝衣服啦。大小通常分 preemie, newborn, 3 months, 6 months 一直到 24 months 。我身边的大部分妈妈表示，美国的 newborn size 一般偏小，可以囤一些 3 个月、 6 个月的。
如果计划有多个宝宝，或者提前购买时还不知道性别，建议买中性的灰色、淡黄色、淡绿色等。健康宝宝一般生长迅速，很多时候用包巾包着，综合考虑数量，小码数的衣服不用囤太多，足够初期换洗即可。
- 不要选择带有绳索、丝带、领结等小饰物的衣服，防止缠勒或者被宝宝吃进嘴里导致窒息。
- 一般选择纯棉制品。宝宝皮肤特别敏感的可选择有机棉 organic 。

可爱又不贵的品牌推荐：国民童装品牌 Carter’s（最常见、性价比最高）、 Gerber（就是做奶粉的嘉宝）、 Gymboree（2017 年 5 月申请破产，全美有几百家店清仓折扣；可惜了一个很好的童装牌子）、 Cat n Jack（Target 自己品牌，质量很好）。更多童装品牌，参见这篇文章。
和尚服／睡袍 3-8 件
Side Snap/Nightgowns；国内比较习惯给新生宝宝穿和尚服，不会挡到未脱落的脐带。国内的和尚服是从旁边系带，但美国这边多用摁扣，我认为用摁扣的更安全也更方便。睡袍像一件超长的罩衫，美国人传统会备几件，用在新生儿脐带脱落后。

Baby Laundry Detergent；我询问过儿科医生，医生说并不需要专门买写着 baby 的产品，很多好产品并没有写着 baby 。任何无香无色的洗衣液都可以，只要看到包装上有 free & clear 字样即可。如果宝宝皮肤敏感则需要小心选择，可以去儿科诊所拿几包试用装试试。
除非家人有皮肤疾病，新生儿衣服无需和成人的分开洗。想测试一下宝宝衣服和成人衣服混在一起洗是否 OK，可将一两件宝宝衣服和成人的混起来洗，看看宝宝皮肤状况，如果宝宝不适，以后就分开来洗。美国市面上大品牌的洗衣液都有出无色无香味的，像是 Tide 、 All 、 Seventh Generation 、 Biokleen Laundry Powder；习惯用洗衣粉的可以选择Charlie's Soap Laundry Powder 。
