很多人注意到自己的美国签证相片下方有星星；据说大多数人是两颗。这代表什么？
网上有很多传言；唯一的官方说明，是国务院官网 2012 年签证问答 webchat 的记录：
Q: […] There is a star or * symbol below the bottom left of my photo, does that signify anything?
A: The star symbol is not of any significance.
就是说，这个星星没啥特别的意义。
在某个访问量很大的非洲论坛上，有位自称美国使馆官员的人回复了这个问题：
Wow, you have a keen eye! [smiley] Those are computer-generated features that help make each visa as unique as the people who obtain them. [smiley]
常见的一个传言是说星星代表风险；星星越多风险越高，星星越少风险越低。既然没有任何官方的解释，当然无法100%证实或证伪这种说法，但我个人认为纯属扯淡。
