这几天多位读者问，父母之前已经申请过延期、打过指纹，现在因为疫情申请二次延期，还需要打指纹、交 Biometrics Fee 吗？
答：USCIS 也许会 waive 打指纹的步骤，但钱还是要交的。官方说明：“An additional biometrics services fee of $85 is required for you and for each person included on a Form I-539A, except for certain A, G, and NATO nonimmigrants who are not required to pay a fee.”「不久前刚打过指模」并不在例外情形中，因此仍然需要缴纳 Biometrics Fee。若缴费金额不对，你的申请会被退回甚至拒绝。
〔更新〕这里有位读者反馈了亲身经验：“我5月17日递交的再次申请 B2 延期 I-539，5月21日收到 USCIS 的 NOTICE，信中明确表明：USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded.”
也就是说：（1）钱还是要交的。（2）钱是不会退的。（3）但是 USCIS 告诉你不用再次去打指模了。
