天气越来越冷啦！有没有小伙伴跟我一样，夏天怕热、冬天怕冷呢？但你若是对美国朋友说「I’m afraid of cold/hot/heat」，他们很可能会一脸懵逼。「be afraid of」是「感到害怕」的意思，你不会是「对冷感到害怕」吧？中文说「怕热/怕冷」其实是「太热/太冷让我感到不舒服」的意思，用英语怎么说呢？
其实迪士尼早就教过我们啦。Frozen 里爱莎就唱过：The cold never bothered me anyway ——「我从来不怕冷」！
Bother 是「使人感到困扰」。「The cold never bothers me」就是「寒冷从来不使我困扰」，也就是「我不怕冷」的意思。那么怕冷则可以直接说：
- I don’t like cold weather. 我不喜欢寒冷天气。
- I hate cold weather. 我讨厌冷天。
或者用 can’t stand / can’t handle / can’t tolerate 表示「受不了」：
- I can’t stand the cold.
- I can’t tolerate the cold.
- I can’t handle the cold.
把 can’t 换成 can 就是「我不怕冷」的意思了。类推，cold 换成 heat，就是怕热。
- The heat doesn’t bother me. 我不怕热。
- I can’t stand the heat. 我受不了热。
- I can’t handle the heat. 太热了，我顶唔顺啊。
